Ultraman Blazar Episode 7 “Rainbow Appears Part 1” gave us so much to unpack. We get to see Gento in both a state of admiration and a state of betrayal, we see Blazar make some new interesting choices, we get insight on the relationship between Kaiju and nature, and we get to see SKaRD, Earth Garon, Blazar, and brand new Kaiju, Nijikagachi, bring their all to an epic boss-level battle that’s not over yet!
The episode was screened to fans at FanExpo on Saturday, April 26th, and the presence of Nijikagachi was enough to draw concerned murmurs and even shouts of panic by the end of the episode. So what did the internet think?
This week’s episode started by begging the insane question of ‘Is Kaiju jerky a thing and would we try it?’ And the answer was overwhelmingly… yes?
Who could even think to eat Kaiju when they’re so lovable though?

In fact, Nijikagachi isn’t even inherently evil. We first met him as a deity of nature who brought rain onto parched land. But if he’s not evil, what’s with all the commotion? Fans shared their insights.

Greed and hypocrisy are big themes in all Ultraman series and Professor Yokomine embodied those qualities like no other…
Unfortunately, Gento was made to bear the brunt of the disappointment, his former inspiration having been reduced to a maniac. And yet Gento’s connection to the situation made it all the more immersive.

Blazar is still a mystery to us in many ways, but this episode gave us a little glimpse at his thought process. Plenty left to decipher though: What could that lingering look have meant?

We even got a better idea of how his Color Timer works and what the threat of Nijikagachi might entail next time based on his immense power.
Blazar is ruthless and I think it’s safe to say we all have faith that he will prevail against the forces that be. I mean, those of you who were lucky enough to attend Fan Expo Canada saw what Blazar is capable of in the flesh!
