In just a few days, Japan’s most iconic superhero, Ultraman, is going to be appearing at LA Comic Con 2025, with a truly TITANIC slate of activations, including must-see screenings, a buzzworthy panel, card game tournaments, online exclusive merch, and so much more!
Headlining their presence at the convention will be two special screenings that fans of the franchise will not want to miss,. Audiences will first be treated to a special screening of Ultraman Omega, where they will get a sneak peek at the first two English-dubbed episodes on September 27th at 1:00pm. The series features Ultraman Omega who fell to Earth in a human form with no memories of his past, taking up the name Sorato Okida. Compelled to face kaiju by a mysterious, subconscious duty, he defends the planet while forming a bond with the humans and will begin its streaming availability in the U.S. in late November and early December. The next day, on September 28th at 12 PM, fans will be treated to the U.S. premiere of Ultraman 4K Discovery, featuring a series of original Ultraman episodes remastered in 4K, a massive undertaking that brings the greatest science fiction of 60 years ago to the modern day.
Fans can then check out Tsuburaya Productions panel, “Ultraman in America Update” on Saturday, September 27th at 2:00pm in the West Hall Stage, moderated by Tsuburaya Fields Media & Pictures Entertainment (TFMPE) President David Kornblum. Featuring insights from Danny Simon (TFM) and Stephen Smith, President of Sky Turtle Nova, the panel will discuss Ultraman’s expansion across media, licensing, and publishing. The team will introduce the recently-released Ultra Academy book series, and Titan Books’ second novel Ultraseven, while also sharing more about upcoming Marvel Comics projects.
“We’re excited to join the Tsuburaya team for LA Comic Con,” Smith said. “And we are excited for Ultraman fans young and old to meet author Rebecca K. Reynolds, and learn more about our exciting new adventure book series for middle graders, Ultra Academy.”
At the heart of the action will be the Tsuburaya Productions booth #5225, where fans can dive into the world of Ultraman through a variety of interactive experiences. Sky Turtle Nova author Rebecca Reynolds will be signing a special edition LA Comic Con exclusive bookplate with the purchase of Ultra Academy Book One: Beware The Baleful Baltan, while partner PopCulture USA will highlight Tsuburaya’s popular Ultraman Card Game!
The excitement continues in the LACC Gaming Area, where the Ultraman Card Game Rise CupTournament will take place on Sunday, September 28 at 12pm and players who register for the tournament will receive a 12% discount on their LA Comic Con admission.
