UC on UCG: Come To The Surface, Dyna! (Featuring BP06!)

Hope you had a great Christmas, UCG players! Did any of you guys get UD01 as a gift? Get any fun games in?

Well, it’s Boxing Day now, and if you know your Commonwealth history, that usually means one more small gift. And this year, UC has the privilege of offering a very special preview from BP06 Argent Allies and Bestial Blades! If you’ve been following along, you’ve seen that Ultraman Dyna has received a small, but powerful support wave this set, including a new RRR Level 2!

It’s a great card, and was clearly designed with a specific setup as its best play: Drop this as a SINGLE, find BP04-005 Dyna and slap it on top, and then trash your scene to find a L1 to make it a “single-card” TRIPLE that only uses one card in your hand!

The only issue, obviously, is that you can’t do that before Turn 2 in a pure Dyna build. BP04-101 In the Light of Fate is your lowest-round scene as a Round 1.

Well, it used to be. Check out BP06-100 Clarkov, Come to the Surface! (Part 2).

I have been excited for this card for a while as a Dyna player. Let’s crack into what actually makes it special, and why it was a piece that Dyna desperately needed.

Firstly, and above all else, this is a Round 0 scene, the third one printed in the game after SD02-014 The Bonds of Zero and PR-001 Ultraman: Rising. (Yes, PR-001 is fully playable, it is a Round 0 scene with no effects.) That means that this is the only scene that Dyna can start the game with, if you’re lead player. (and inadvertently get a seventh draw in the process!)

Secondly, this is the first scene with <When this card is sent to your discard area from the scene area> as its activation window. While this card only activates if sent by an effect, it still opens up an entire class of potential scene effects going forward. Imagine getting an effect off when your scene gets replaced by the opponent…

Thirdly, this enables an absolute WHOPPER of a turn 1 for a Dyna player:

1) Set this scene, drawing a 7th card.
2) Set BP06-002 in your Round 1 lane.
3) Flip your cards.
4) On play, BP06-002 checks your top 5 cards in deck for a Level 3 Dyna, preferably BP04-005 (the BP04 RRR), and levels up into it permanently. (SKaRD, eat your heart out!)
5) Activate BP04-005’s effect, trashing BP06-100 to check your top 5 cards for a Level 1 Dyna and sliding it underneath your stack, resulting in a TRIPLE at 18000.
6) BP06-100’s effect triggers, giving the stack an extra 1000 BP and making it 19000!

19000 is beyond almost any breakpoint a player can produce on Round 1, with the sole exception being the infamous promo Zetton. With very little likely to match that power, at this point in time this might be the most powerful turn 1 an Ultra Hero deck can produce! What could possibly be stronger or faster than that?

We’ll leave you with a decklist to try out for fun, an unusual combination using the new cards. Tell us what you think!
