The Marvel multiverse and the Ultraman Series have been mingling since 2020’s The Rise of Ultraman, with over a dozen incredible issues of American comic book action released, and more on the way with Ultraman X Avengers coming later this year!
Those, however, are all American comics — and now Japan has decided to throw in as well!
Ultraman: Along Came a Spider-Man is a new book by Shigenobu Matsumoto and Tomo Hirokawa, made in cooperation with Marvel Comics, Tsuburaya Productions, and Shogakukan, all titans of storytelling.
The story focuses on Peter Parker, and his alter-ego Spider-Man. When a tragedy makes him question his reasons for fighting, he finds himself on the legendary “Interdimensional Train,” bringing him to a world where Kaiju clash with the Giant of Light! However, the sinister Doctor Doom is not far behind him — and he seeks Ultraman’s incredible power. And working alongside Alien Mephilas, he might get it…
Ultraman: Along Came a Spider-Man begins on August 14th, 2024, with the Viz Manga App simulpublishing English translations alongside the Japanese version! More information will be revealed in the near future, so stay close to Ultraman Connection!
