Ultraman Blazar Episode 2, “The Man Who Created SKaRD” aired this past Friday, and if we weren’t hooked by the first episode, we are definitely hooked now. This time we got a little more insight on the energies of the characters, both individually and as a team.
As you’ve probably noticed by now, Blazar serves as a more serious installment of the Ultraman franchise with more focus on the defense force than the Ultras and Kaiju, a more intentional and serious sound design, and a more mature protagonist. This week’s episode, however, exemplified that the quirkiness of every defense force is what makes them so lovable, and this team will continue that legacy.
#UltramanBlazar episode 2 finally exuding its identity as a series, the pacing & comedy beats is unlike any series in the past few years, there's a clear intent in camera placement and blocking, and so many times it creates such funny moments, yep, this show is indeed a bit goofy pic.twitter.com/aodUH4n87d

It seems I am not alone in that sentiment. Fans worldwide have been sharing musings, fan art, and memes as the series unfolds, getting to know these new characters the best way we all know how: Making jokes about them.
honestly the funniest part of episode 2 is just how Gento seems to be nursing an increasingly annoying migraine through the whole thing #UltramanBlazar pic.twitter.com/VQU0WjpRY3

And of course, who could get enough of the iconic fishing rod scene? At this point I’m convinced that epic move will be meme-bait till the end of time.

A Blazar watch party wouldn’t be complete without everyone in the discord trying to spell out Blazar’s notorious screams (although most of them read like the sound I make trying to explain to the mechanic what’s wrong with my car).
Episode 2 was also our first introduction to the Ultraman Blazar theme song and the reactions were unanimous.
Every step of the way we get closer to understanding the world of Blazar and all of the intriguing characters that make it up. We can’t wait to see more of what you guys have to say!
God damn. #UltramanBlazar Episode 1 was excellent, but somehow Blazar Episode 2 was EVEN BETTER. The character interactions are already the most natural feeling I've seen in an Ultra show in a while. The chemistry between these people is perfect.#tokusatsuhttps://t.co/ZIHGA8FjSK
